Final Project- "Without a Roof"

For this final project, I did a documentary of homeless people in New York City. The issue of homelessness was something that I wanted to address in my work because I sympathize with the plight of homeless people and the difficulties that they face in their day-to-day lives. I want to photograph the homeless in a way that can let the audience perceive them on how they live their lives. This series of photographs captures their emotions well and shows how much they really need help. You can see how lonely they are. People are always avoiding and not recognizing the homeless so I think people should change how they view the homeless.

'Scenes Of Life'

I think this series of photographs shows a strong photographic vision and works well together. I really like how the artist incorporates everyday life events. The first picture point of view from the ceiling or the sky compresses the space of the image into a surface. I like how each picture shows a different emotion, it definitely captures how people act or feel in everyday life. The perspective and angle of how the artist took these photographs gives it an interesting look. There compositions capture different moods focusing on our existence in the world and our dreams. I don't really think the series needs to be improved. This particular series caught my attention and I like it how it is.

Lenscratch Portrait Exhibition

Jen Jansen, The Road Ahead, San Diego, CA
I think this portrait does a great job of providing a sense of the model's character and personality because you can get this feeling of innocence and youth. The emotion on her face portrays something about her character as well.
