Beirut - City of Regrets

Lebanon, Beirut. Middle eastern Arab during November, 1983. A young Palestinian boy at the Tripoli front. This photograph is taken by Eli Reed. Just by looking at this photograph, one can assume that it's just a young boy standing in front of cloud of smoke. However, this one image can portray a lot meaning behind it. This boy is probably around 4-7 years old. There is a lot of fear going on in this photograph, as you can tell from the boy's expression on his face. You can also assume there must some type of conflict happening because of the smoke and explosion in the background. Eli Reed captured the main subject of this photo which is the young boy during the middle of war. I feel like he wanted to understand how the people of Lebanon could survive their days and nights.

I took this picture using my iPhone in the beginning of fall semester by Hunt Pond. Although this is a very simplistic image of a pair of ray bans, I choose this image because I really like the reflection of the sunglasses on the dock and how its centered. I like how the distinct colors really bring out the sharpness of the image. I love taking pictures of almost anything because each photograph I take reminds me of that specific moment in time, especially the candid ones, where i can capture something in the spur moment and get a real sense of emotion. Every photograph has a meaning behind it and I enjoy looking back at them and remembering the memories.
