‘Picture Story’

National Press Photographers' Association https://nppa.org/node/61605

Quinn Rooney winning second best sports photographer in the year of 2012 captured this wonderful photo of Travis Nederpelt. Travis Nederpelt competed in the Heats of the men's 400 Metre Individual Medley during the Australian Olympic Swimming trials. This caption of the image definitely completes the story. This is image is very compelling because of the way it is shot. He captured nice details of the water and especially the bubbles coming out of the swimmers nose. As the swimmers head comes out of the water, you get that texture and feel of the water. I think he captures great actions shots of different athletes during these events.

Flickr 'Food Porn'

This photograph is considered bad for many reasons. The first thing that caught my eye was the light reflection hitting off of the container, which is sort of a distraction for the entire image. Secondly, there isn't really any focus on a specific subject. All the food objects are kind of just there placed on the table. Everything in the background is sort of a distraction too, especially if the photographer was trying to capture the food. The photographer should have just focused on one thing and cut some other things out. If he/she focused on one specific food item it would have came out clearer and the audience would have known what the main focus of the photograph was.
